Taking a Washington DC night tour on a sightseeing bus is something that Pat has wanted to do for some time now. We were never able to work it into our busy schedule until this trip. The RV Resort arranges the whole thing and they pick us up and drop off right at the front office! The tour was from 6pm to 11pm and stopped at all the major monuments. Most were well lit and awesome to see after dark.
I’m not a huge fan of bus rides. With many turns and bounces, I tend to not feel the greatest. Although, this ride seemed fine as long as I looked ahead. And I would much rather ride the bus than be driving myself in this downtown DC traffic. Even at night, there was the constant flow of vehicles.
Over our last visits to DC to see our son Bryan and his family, we have gone to most all of the major monuments and museums. However, we had not seen the Korean or the FDR before. These were new to us.
Seeing the city and monuments at night was a new venture for us on this RV Journey. It was quite spectacular, but I was worn out when we arrived back at the resort at about 11:15 pm. Thanks for following along!
This looks like a fantastic tour!!! We have been to DC a couple times in the past and this sounds like a great way to see the monuments in a new and different way. Also knowing you can get this directly from the campground is another bonus! I am sure it was not cheap, but a once in a lifetime bucket list item. This was from Cherry Valley RV Park?
Yes, from Cherry Hill RV park and it cost $50 per adult.
We’ve stayed at Cherry Valley RV Park. Wonderful folks. One if the big pluses is the bus that comes to the Park and takes you to the light rail station. In 20-30minutes you’re on the Mall.
The night tour us wonderful! Beautiful pictures!
Looks like the perfect way to see DC at night. Seems as if was a beautiful evening. Hope you guys are doing well, you’re looking good.
