I’m not absolutely sure that “wintering” is a valid verb, but if not it should be. It is the location that we chose to spend the winter. But, now we are faced with making a change to the plan we made back in the springtime. Yes, it seems that so much today is in some state of turmoil that we are constantly required to make changes. And I’m usually quite acceptable to change if it is for the better. Our wintering plan changes are…
Where to Winter Next Year (2020-21)?
Yes, the word winter can become a verb! It is the location that we choose to spend the winter months, since our home has wheels. One of our full time RV goals is to target good weather with 75 degrees the goal. So, with that in mind, we plan to go somewhere south for the winter and then move into the northern states during the summer months. So, now the question is, where to winter next year (2020-21)?
Travel Update Sept 2019
The Fall Season is almost upon us. The nights are getting cooler while we are in Wyoming and now South Dakota. The RV parks are much quieter and not very busy as the family vacations are over and the kids are back in school. Both a good thing in my full-time RVer opinion. South Padre Island, Texas – Day Trip
South Padre Island (SPI) is a beautiful barrier island about an hour due east from our winter home in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) of Texas. We wanted to make a trip to this popular tourist destination before the spring break madness begins on March 9th. So, we caught some perfect 80 degree weather and took off for a day to explore.
Port Aransas Texas – Beach Week
Sometimes it is just a beach week. Sometimes it is more. Just a few miles south of the city of Corpus Christi lies a long narrow barrier island that protects the mainland from storms and includes some beautiful, wide beaches. We selected a great park on Mustang Island that was just off the beach. A couple of minutes walk over the sand dunes via the boardwalk and we were at the Gulf of Mexico.
Merry Christmas! The Memories of Christmas Past
This is the time of year to celebrate the season by spending time with our families and friends. Many Christmas parties, dinners, gift exchanges, and gatherings. Although, this year will be another adjustment phase for us. We will surely miss our family and friends this year, since we are in deep south Texas for the winter season. So, this year my thoughts go to the years past…
