I’m not absolutely sure that “wintering” is a valid verb, but if not it should be. It is the location that we chose to spend the winter. But, now we are faced with making a change to the plan we made back in the springtime. Yes, it seems that so much today is in some state of turmoil that we are constantly required to make changes. And I’m usually quite acceptable to change if it is for the better. Our wintering plan changes are…
Savannah, Ga – Part 2
Our four night stayover was long enough for a couple of forays into the city to walk between the town squares and admire the stately old homes. In part 1, Pat and I walked around a bit and had a great anniversary dinner. In part 2, I’ve mainly included a few more photos that I liked. Hope you do too. It was great to see all the Christmas decorations on the grand old homes. Savannah, Ga part 2 plus some other thoughts…
Hurricanes and Florida’s History
While we are waiting a few more days to begin our northbound ascent, we are well into the Florida hurricane season. It officially began on June 1st, so I was curious about the timing of most of these powerful storms and whatever other facts I could find about hurricanes and Florida’s history with them.
Disney’s Magic Kingdom
Back before the virus, we had a one day visit to the Magic Kingdom. This was in the last week of February, before things got crazy. The Disney park was packed with people as it was spring break. A week or two later, I wonder if we could have been exposed, but we are now three weeks later without symptoms, so guess we dodged a bullet. To help get your mind off the latest news, here is a virtual day at the Magic Kingdom!
Merry Christmas!
A short post today to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas. Some photos below from the last few days around Anna Maria Island, Florida.
We are in Cortez Florida for one more week before relocating to the east coast of Florida. Hopefully, I’ll have the blog caught up by then! I have the last three weeks that include a visit from our kids and many visits with local family and friends!
Take care and God Bless.
Where to Winter Next Year (2020-21)?

One of our full time RV goals is to target good weather with 75 degrees the goal. So, with that in mind, we plan to go somewhere south for the winter and then move into the northern states during the summer months. So, now the question is, where to winter next year (2020-21)?
South Padre Island, Texas – Day Trip
South Padre Island (SPI) is a beautiful barrier island about an hour due east from our winter home in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) of Texas. We wanted to make a trip to this popular tourist destination before the spring break madness begins on March 9th. So, we caught some perfect 80 degree weather and took off for a day to explore.
Merry Christmas! The Memories of Christmas Past
This is the time of year to celebrate the season by spending time with our families and friends. Many Christmas parties, dinners, gift exchanges, and gatherings. Although, this year will be another adjustment phase for us. We will surely miss our family and friends this year, since we are in deep south Texas for the winter season. So, this year my thoughts go to the years past…
