Relocation Day to Boothbay Harbor, Maine

Our month in the Bar Harbor/Acadia area has now come to an end.  It was a great month long stay, but it was time to go.  We got back into the travel mode and went through the pre-road checklist.  Good to go…

Our route was from Trenton Maine down to Boothbay Maine.  The route was mostly on Hwy 1, which can be very slow as there are many small towns/villages requiring a slow down.  Especially, through Camden.  A beautiful village, but terrible for traffic jams.

The view from the truck’s driver seat. It was on autopilot at the time.

The trip took about 3.5 hours with traffic delays and we arrived at the Shore Hills Campground at about 1pm.  After some set up work, lunch was served at 1:30 or so.

Soon after our friends Larry and Meredith Decker stopped by to say hello.  We met them here last month on the way north and attended church with them.  Some great folks.

We decided to go to the harbor with them for a seafood dinner and then they drove us around the harbor at sunset to see the awesome views.  We also stopped by and visited some of their friends who have a home overlooking the harbor.  What a view!

Can you ever see enough sunsets?

The incredible view from the friend’s place. About half of the homes here are insulated for the winter. The rest are summer homes only.

Tomorrow, we fire Big Red back up for another 3 hour drive south down to New Hampshire.  Take care and God Bless.
