With our week long stay in Boothbay being over, it was time to migrate northbound again. So we packed up, lifted up the jacks, pulled in the slides, and relocated the rig about an hour north to the Penobscot Bay Area of Maine. It was an easy commute along scenic US Hwy 1! Continue reading “Penobscot Bay Area; Rockland, Rockport, & Camden Maine”
This is the final update from our week at Boothbay Harbor ME. The campground, (Shore Hills), turned out to be a very nice park and the shuttle into town was an added bonus. We did not explore much of the surrounding area, but focused on this harbor town and area close around it. We will definitely return one of these years. Continue reading “Boothbay Harbor ME; Wrap Up”
We had heard about this ship, the Viking ship Draken, that was about to arrive in Boothbay Harbor, but not really sure what to expect. Many people were talking about it. So, we did what everyone does in this age, we Googled it! It appeared that it is the largest Viking ship ever built in modern times and it was sailing into Boothbay Harbor! Continue reading “Boothbay Harbor ME; the Viking Ship Draken Arrives!”
Yesterday (Saturday) we took a short drive to Ocean Point, sort of a suburb of Boothbay. The drive on highway 96 was the perfect scenic tour of the real Maine. Not many tourists, not commercial, just a narrow road that winds through the houses right at the rocky edge of the coast! Continue reading “Boothbay Harbor Maine; Drive to Ocean Point”
Our next step in the RV Journey is to Boothbay Harbor, Maine. The travel from Hampton Hills N.H. to our campground was a nice short 120 miles and it took about 3.5 hours including a stop for lunch. When doing some advance research, we felt his coastal town would be one of the highlights of our summer travel! Continue reading “Boothbay Harbor, Maine; “Down East” Coastal Bliss”
New Hampshire is another new state for us and it is loaded with historical importance. The town of Hampton Falls and the Wakeda campground is located near the beach town of Hampton Beach plus many other coastal towns up and down the coast. This is a very popular vacation spot for people from Canada and other nearby states. Continue reading “Hampton Falls, New Hampshire; Wakeda Campground”
This is the second part of two blog updates from our 10 day stay in Beantown.
The North End
This Boston neighborhood was populated by Italians in the late 1800’s and still today Italian is still spoken and they have many fine Italian restaurants throughout that harken back to the older days with white tablecloths and a cash only payment. I love my italian food. Continue reading “Boston, Mass; A Patriot’s City! Part 2”

It’s the July 4th Holiday! A special celebration. Why is this a special celebration? Continue reading “Happy 4th of July!”
From a historical perspective, Boston Massachusetts has been on our must see list since we began our full-time RV travels just over a year ago. This is where our great country began from the Plymouth Rock landing of the Mayflower to the first battles of our Independence.
We also met up with our RV friends Suzanne and Calvin in Boston. They arrived in town a week earlier and are staying at an RV park on the south side. So we agreed to meet at the subway parking lot to enjoy a ride into town and spend a couple of days sightseeing! Continue reading “Boston, Mass; Patriot’s City! Part 1”
