It has been absolutely crazy! We could not have imagined the chaos and stress of this rapid downsizing and prepping for the newly arriving camper. It is now April 27th and we have mostly all moved out of the house. I’ll write a post soon about this process as it has been somewhat overwhelming at times, but we are excited that the day is finally here – we are picking up the new 5th wheel camper!
It has been awhile since my last update with the reason being no spare time. I have been working my day job at FM (5 work days to go), and then would meet Trish at the house to work until late, 11 or 12 midnight. But more on that later.
We are now residing at the Hampton Inn in Christiansburg for a couple of weeks until I finish my work career. Tigger (our 17 year old tabby cat) is still manning the house, but is eager to get on the road.
We leave tomorrow morning at 6:30am to drive to Danville, VA to finally pick up the RV. It has been months in the planning stages and tomorrow it becomes reality! When we arrive at about 9:30 they will take the F-350 truck to install the hitch, while we go through a complete walk through of all systems and features. I will document this training with video to attempt to retain all the critical items.
Then we drive back home on some secondary, twisty, Virginia roads with an oversize truck and a 40 foot 5th wheel! Right off the bat I’m put to the stress test! Tomorrow, I will have the white knuckle report.
Have a great day.
