Clermont, Florida – Disney Epcot

Clermont, Florida has been a great location to be very near Disney, have a Publix grocery within walking distance, many restaurants, and central to several quaint small towns. Our RV park is the Citrus Valley RV Resort and is one of the finest in our three years of travel. So, one of the goals of this location is to take in as much of Disney as we could with our good friends Calvin and Sue. Calvin, being a Disney retiree, continues to enjoy the perks and can share them with friends! In this update, we go to Epcot!

Epcot was first opened in 1982 and is the second of four theme parks built on the Disney complex. It is more than twice the size as the original Magic Kingdom. Epcot’s purpose is to celebrate innovation and culture as a permanent World’s Fair. They host over 12 million visitors a year to the 300 acre park. It seemed like a million were there on our visit. It was chocked full with a throng of merry goers!

Florida resident tickets are now $109 each plus $25 to park. Definitely not cheap, but Disney is the big dog of theme parks. Thanks Cal!

We attended Epcot in the early part of February before all the brewhaha on Coronavirus began. I suppose this was when China was trying to keep it under wraps. So, we jumped into the petri dish with the multitude oblivious to any dangers. I have a few photos below of our day. Enjoy!

Epcot has many restaurants, food stands, and many places to buy beer, wine, or mixed drink and you may carry it with you around the park. Interesting since it is a Disney after all.

A sea of buggies. This is just one of many parking lots. Guess the little tykes are having to walk.

We visited most all of the country exhibits and waited for a few attractions, namely Soarin’ (incredible ride through many special effects), Spaceship earth (a history from stone age to modern), Living the Land (new farming techniques in a slow boat ride), American Adventure (Mark Twain and Ben Franklin in animatronics tell the story of America).

Sidewalk chalk art in progress.
Sue and Pat, our sweet gals.
Snow white and one of her dwarfs. 🙂
Minnie with a photo op. I missed my chance.
Fireworks at the end of the day.

That’s all folks! Thanks for following along! Take care and God Bless.
