Cheyenne, Wyoming – Part 2

This post wraps up our weeklong stay at the Wyoming capital city of Cheyenne! There were so many sights and pictures that I had to break it up over two posts. Hope you enjoy!

Governor’s Mansion

When the new Wyoming governor’s mansion was built in 1976, this historic building became a museum and showplace. It was built in 1905 and served each governor right up to 1976. It includes some great woodwork and many very cool features. Of course, it is filled with furnishings from the period.

Pat outside the mansion.

Cheyenne Frontier Days

This is their really big festival every summer. Cheyenne Frontier Days takes place the week after we leave and that’s okay due to the huge crowds that it pulls in from all over the world. Imagine top name country stars performing daily, with many rodeo events, a carnival, plus an old western village. Kind of like a super-sized state fair. I usually prefer the smaller crowds.

Afternoon Tea at the Nagle Warren Mansion

We had wanted to see the inside of this 1888 mansion when we first saw it on the trolley tour. And what better way than to book their English Afternoon Tea at 2pm! It came with a free tour of this classic B&B.

Walking Around Town

Thanks for following along! Next up is Alpine Wyoming and the Grand Teton National Park. Subscribe and/or leave a comment if you wish! Take care and God Bless!

      1. Randy, good chat: N7WOT in Lander. Road to Cody is good, left at stoplight in Thermopolis.
That site is: wyoham.org, there is a list of all Wyoming repeaters and settings. Eric mentioned Cody: 146.805
