RV and other travels around the World
The Fall Season is almost upon us. The nights are getting cooler while we are in Wyoming and now South Dakota. The RV parks are much quieter and not very busy as the family vacations are over and the kids are back in school. Both a good thing in my full-time RVer opinion. Today’s blog is a travel update and some other thoughts…
Next up on our travel plan is the town of Spearfish South Dakota as we continue our southeastern trek. There are many things to see and do in the local area including the historic Deadwood SD.
The Devils Tower Wyoming was only a three day stop for us, because the tower is literally all there was to see. But what a sight it is. Kind of hard to believe when you look at it. Nothing else like it in the world. When driving in and top a hill and there it is! Awesome…
The small town of Sheridan Wyoming really surprised us in how well preserved it is and how many businesses are located in the historic downtown area. It appears to be thriving! The old building architecture is beautiful, the town has several murals painted, and they have bronze sculptures everywhere downtown! It was a fun and interesting four days…
This may be the first time that I have had a had a three part blog update for one location. But, we were in Cody Wyoming for two weeks and there is so much to see and do. We really enjoyed our stay and the whole mountain state tour. So, without further ado, here is the final installment!
Our month-long stay at the Orchid Lake RV Resort is now over and we have traveled the 320 or so miles north to Savannah, GA. The month of February just flew by like crazy. I thought time went slowly while working. But now, it is like a hyperdrive. Kind of scary. The highlights of our month there were meeting many friendly people and making some new friends. We have been slowly debating the pros and cons of where to travel to this year. So many places we want to see and so many things to do. Our original plan was to see most of the country in three years and then find a location to finally settle down. Camp Reservations, Truck Upgrades, The Blue Parrot, Parade & Day Trip
This last week was filled with us planning our spring and summer travels, researching routes and campgrounds, and then finally calling the parks to make reservations. We have found this part to be quite tedious and time consuming. But necessary to be get into the area and into the RV parks that we want. This last week, we took a day trip to meet up with Lois and Bob, another RV full-timing couple that we met in Louisiana. They are wintering just south of us in the town of Clearwater Fl. I can’t believe how quickly time flies by. Good grief, half of our stay here is already over. This has been a great place to spend a month at the Orchid Lake RV Resort. The weather has been perfect with temps in the mid seventies up to low eighties. Even with the warm weather there is always a light breeze, so under our awning has been a great place to chill. A few times we have ventured out into the real world and one of those ventures was to a small Greek village of Tarpon Springs.
