Ohio Part 3: Amish Auction in Danville Oh & Put-In-Bay, Oh

This is our final part of the continuing series of our 2-week stay near Medina, Ohio.  We visited with family and saw some very interesting places.  These two places are about as diverse as you can get from several standpoints.  A study in contrasting cultures.  One a very basic 1700’s like environment and the other a resort with all the indulgences.

Ohio Part 2; Cleveland Art Museum and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Railway

This post continues with our nearly 2-week stay in Ohio.  We ventured into the big city of Cleveland a couple of times and were very impressed with the ability to get around and the many things to do.  The downtown area mostly looked great and it was evident that the older building were well cared for and many thriving businesses were present. Prophetstown State Park and Biking Trail Ride

This post is a jump forward to real time (Aug 24th) versus my blog updates that are about three weeks behind.  I am looking to get them caught up soon. We are currently camped at the Prophetstown State Park located near Lafayette, In. It is a real joy to be back in a state park after camping in a few private parks the last few weeks.  We just love the acres of green space, wide enjoyable campsites, the miles of trails, and all the natural beauty. Washington D.C. Part 2

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to our nation’s capital.  What a diverse, active, and vibrant city.  So many people going about their daily lives.  Most all in support of our federal government in some fashion.  You have to wonder if it really takes this many people and support to help run the country.  In many cases, I have been a supporter of reducing the over grown federal government and the spending that goes along with it.  You have to ask what real value are most of these thousands of people adding to the security and economy of our country (I found the total number of federal employees at over 4 million including military).
