Quite obviously, my last couple of blog posts have been long delayed. In the back of my mind, I keep thinking of topics that would make good posts. And then other priorities keep surpassing the desire to sit down at the laptop and write about our travels or adventures. I’ve actually struggled with the idea to continue writing updates or to give it up and simply keep the archives to review our RV travels in our later years. What to do?
On the pro side, I thoroughly enjoy the writing part of the blog. Researching and then reflecting my thoughts on whatever the topic may be. I’m sure that not everyone has agreed with my beliefs but then it is my forum. 🙂
Another positive is the documentation of our travels and adventures in this retirement phase of our lives. Even now, many times, I have gone back to check a prior post for something about the town we visited or a restaurant in some small town. The four years of RV travel was the best decision of my retirement. Pat and I both enjoyed seeing this great country and exploring the many small towns from Maine to Texas.
On the other side of the coin, the original intent of the blog was to document our RV travels. In this phase of our lives, we travel only about four months in our snowbird flight to Florida and back. So, do I need to change the name and focus of the blog to write about other topics? Or just continue to write about whatever we do in the retirement life. We will see.
As I have mentioned before, I have many hobbies and interests that keep me very occupied. This year I’ve even picked up a couple of new hobbies. And then there is our home in the Virginia mountains. We love this place and the small town. But, it comes with much work and a never ending to do list. One of the former owners was into landscaping and planted 50 trees and many shrubs, bushes and what have you. I would like to ask him what he was thinking. They are beautiful, but all need trimming.
Let’s face it, doing the blog is also a hobby that I enjoy, so will probably keep it going. It does not generate any income and no advertisements, so is truly a hobby. Perhaps I need to refocus the website on something else. Some of the hobbies? Or maybe just continue to document our adventures, travel, and activities as they come.
We do have an epic fall travel plan this year and it would be great to document it as it happens. More on the two-month vacation in a later post. I will tell you that it involves planes, trains, autos, and a ship.
To wrap up, my goal is to publish this blog once per week with as much fresh material as possible as we continue to be blessed on this retirement journey. Pat and I are both doing fine, and our family is as well. Take care and God Bless.
Nice update Randy! Speaking for Lorna and I, we hope you never stop posting your Blogs since we enjoy so much following you and Patricia in your retirement adventures.
Thanks Mike! It is enjoyable, just need to re-prioritize some other stuff!

Thanks Robert! I also enjoy following your exploits!
Randy your blogging is excellent,! Even though Janet and I don’t do the rv travel I enjoy reading your trip reports. I’m sure fellow rv’ers appreciate your insights. I usually journal during our travels and it’s fun to go back and read about our travels. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Mike! You need to start a blog and document all of your travels! You have some great stories
