RV travels around the USA
I have always enjoyed having hobbies, although some people do not seem to have an interest in pursuing a hobby. I just don’t understand them. In fact, I’ve had so many different hobbies over the years and just not enough time for them. That was back when I was working 50-60 hours a week. My plan was to really get into the hobbies after retirement.
A few days ago, on my birthday, we were looking for something to do outside the park. There are so many activities at our park that there is not much need to leave. But, it was my birthday and we wanted to go have lunch. So, I thought of what we could do here locally. There are a few shooting ranges, a movie theater, tons of shopping, and a small museum in the next door town of Weslaco. So off we went…

In this blog, I’ll review some of the larger events held here at the RV park/resort since we arrived in mid-December. It has been a busy, but very relaxing time since we arrived – almost two months ago!
I’m not sure what has happened to time since I retired. It has accelerated like a 900 HP Ferrari! I retired just over a year and eight months ago. It seems like yesterday, although we have seen and done many things in this time. Maybe I need to go back to work again to slow things back done. No, scratch that idea, the workplace frowns on our 4pm happy hours.
As I write this, I’m watching the morning news. The cold weather Up North and the federal budget are a couple of the main stories. The temperatures in Chicago got to minus 22 degrees, but not quite a record cold. Wow! John Steinbeck was quoted as saying “What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.” Now that I am wearing shorts and flip flops and sitting on the warm southern US border, I can actually see the wisdom in that!
